Birdzilla, an elderly bald eagle terrorized rookery, ate 187 eggs

Beacon Hill Park signage proudly drew attention to their urban herons’ rookery but it may remain empty due to the appetite of one female bald eagle. Startling numbers of large, slate-grey herons quietly arrived almost overnight as harbingers of spring in Victoria, BC’s Beacon Hill Park. Activities centred around the highly-visible heron nests.
