Arctic nations need to plan management of climate change

The Arctic nations should start planning how to manage effects of climate change, such as thawing permafrost, melting sea ice says Institute of Arctic Biology. An increasingly ice-free Arctic Ocean could be zoned to include marine protected areas, shipping lanes and fishing areas. Economic policy should promote opportunities, not protect tradition.
